Meet The Lacey Family Dentistry Team

Tara has been working in dentistry for about 7 years; starting as a receptionist, quickly elevating herself to an office coordinator position, and finally moving to a clinical role. Today, Tara works as a Radiology Licensed Dental Assistant and is actively working towards her Expanded Functions Certification with the ultimate goal of transitioning into Dental Hygiene.

Tara’s story at Dr. Michael Lacey Family Dentistry started long before her dental career – Dr. Lacey has been her family dentist since she was just three years old! He was the initial inspiration and continues to be a driving force and source of support for Tara in her career path.

Outside of work, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband, Spencer, and their young daughter, Raylee.  They are always doing something, whether it’s chasing their two labs around or embarking on any number of outdoor adventures.

Katie is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) and has been working for Dr. Mike Lacey for two years. She was born and raised on the Oregon Coast and has lived in the Eugene area for 5 years. Her passion for the dental field was realized at a young age. Through her own experiences as a dental and orthodontic patient, she knew this was a path that she wanted to pursue in life. She made her dream a reality when she earned her certification from Practical Dental Assisting of Oregon, an accelerated program offered in Corvallis.

She has continued to grow in the dental field by committing herself to further education. In 2019, she attended OHSU Dental School and earned her Cord Packing certification. This summer she will be returning to participate in a two-week Restorative Functions course. These courses are giving her the opportunity to help provide Dr. Lacey’s practice with a higher level of patient care. Katie enjoys getting outside on her days off and connecting with nature. Whether it’s hiking, hunting, fishing or paddleboarding, she is up for the challenge! Come see Katie and learn more about her certifications at Lacey Family Dentistry today.

Sandy has been working with Dr. Lacey since 2013.   She graduated from LCC in 2001 with a degree in dental hygiene.  Sandy feels it is important to focus on prevention and education as well as providing a gentle, thorough cleaning and periodontal therapy.   She is blessed by the many great relationships she’s developed with her patients over the years and always looks forward to their dental visits.

In her spare time she enjoys crafting, camping, gardening and spending time with her family.

Sue is our front office ambassador. When you enter the office she will greet you with a warm hello and friendly smile! She has been helping patients for over 13 years in our practice. When Sue is not at the office she is with her family. She has 4 children, 14 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Yes, they keep her very busy! She hopes to see you soon at our office!

Stephanie earned her dental hygiene degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and spent the first eleven years of practice in the Midwest. She joined Dr. Lacey’s practice after moving to Eugene in 1993 and feels privileged to be a part of his commitment to compassionate, quality dental care. As part of the office team Stephanie values helping patients understand how the health of their chewing system can impact their everyday lives. Analytical in her approach to problem-solving, she enjoys finding ways to assist her patients in achieving their personal best when it comes to their oral health.
Outside of the office Stephanie enjoys hiking with her husband, researching on the internet, and
especially spending time with her family – five children & their spouses, & four grandchildren and counting… In her downtime, Stephanie can be found curled up with a good book.

Rachel is our patient relations and finance coordinator. She is the person who is here to help you navigate your dental insurance & effectively understand your treatment needs.
